Revive Our Hearts

Good Beg(end)ing

Good Beg(end)ing

About three months ago, the Lord begin to work on our leadership and people at Family Life Bible Church by creating this huge thirst within our hearts for a refreshing from Him. We didn’t know what to do other than to devote a period of time to seeking . . .

Faith At All Costs

Faith At All Costs

No matter how many times we hear about faith or talk about faith, we will never realize the cost of faith until we are practicing it in the trenches of life. It is there that we discover there is more than knowing the right answers or singing in the right key if we are going to live a life that is . . .

When You're Too Tired For Holiness

When You're Too Tired For Holiness

Several that I've talked to recently don't have a problem with being holy as much as they do with striving for holiness. Why? Well because striving usually requires effort and many people are so tired. What makes everyone tired? If I can sum it up in one word it would be . . .

The Truly Happy (Part 2)

The Truly Happy (Part 2)

In a world that wants instantaneous happiness there's a little bit of irony that this theme comes in two blog posts, right? In fact we've probably come to understand that being truly happen doesn't have a 5, 7, or 12 step plan. He has something to say about our habit and He stated it very clearly in . . .

Lukewarm?

Lukewarm?

My experience with lukewarm coffee makes me cringe when I think of how the Lord must have felt about the church at Laodicea. It seems that within that body of believers had crept a comfortable self reliance that had brought the temperature of these folks to a degree of absolute uselessness. These guys had become so tepid that they didn’t even realize their true need for a . . .

At the Feet of Jesus

At the Feet of Jesus

My dad tells the story of when my younger brother, Tim, woke him up one night. Dad was lying on his side toward the edge of the bed. Something caused him to open his eyes where he saw that Tim was just standing there, a foot from his face, looking at him. I know. The stuff you would see in a horror flick. Tim said, “Daddy. What are we gonna do now?” Dad crawled out of bed and said, “We’re going back to bed!”

Tim is a lot like us when it comes to sitting at the feet of Jesus . . .
